From TikTok to Twitch, content consumption varies on different social media platforms. More Gen Zers and millennials are using their phones as a primary mobile viewing device. But there are marked differences in their content viewing habits, according to Whistle Wise. The data arm of the Gen Z media brand Whistle found 62% of Gen Zers prefer a daily hit from their Instagram feed, while 65% of millennials are streaming Facebook video every day.

Reddit Launches New Content Sharing Integration with Snapchat

Reddit has launched a new content integration with Snapchat, the first of its kind for the platform. Reddit users who have the Snapchat app installed will be able to share their favourite Reddit posts with friends in a Snap. To share Reddit content in Snapchat, redditors simply tap the “share” icon on an image, text or link-based post on Reddit’s iOS app and select the Snapchat option. Then, choose a few friends to send the post to, or add it to your Story so all your friends can see it.

Facebook Publishes New Data on the Effectiveness of Combining News Feed and Stories for Ad Campaigns

Essentially, Facebook’s looking to make it as easy as possible for advertisers to expand their campaigns into Stories. According to Facebook, one option to consider to give your holidays digital marketing campaigns a boost is to add Stories placement to your Feed campaigns, as opposed to using each element – Stories and News Feed – independently, and for entirely separate campaigns.

Lastly, Facebook has launched a new resource hub for marketers which looks at the key factors driving online business growth, how innovative, disruptive brands are tapping into these trends, and how Facebook’s various advertising and promotion options can help to fuel such.

Instagram Tests a New Event ‘Invites’ Sticker for Stories

Instagram is reportedly testing out another new Stories sticker option, this time aimed at facilitating event participation, with invites via your Story. The new ‘Invites’ sticker would enable you to add details of your upcoming event – including title, date and location – which you could then attach to your Instagram Story as a sticker. Viewers would then be able to RSVP direct from the Sticker, providing another way to generate interest, and/or share exclusive events.

Snapchat Launches ‘Dynamic Ads’ Which Will Create Ads Based on Uploaded Product Catalogues

Snapchat has launched a new ‘Dynamic Ads’ option which will essentially create your Snap ads for you based on your uploaded product catalogue. The system will then display your products to relevant audiences as it sees fit. The process will make it easier for more brands to advertise on Snap, taking the hassle out of not only the creative process, but also with respect to updating your listings. If you want to keep your campaigns running all the time, because they’re driving great results, you just maintain your data flow through to Snap and its systems will keep running your ads with the latest, relevant info.
